Although there are some things that can be upgraded/replaced in a laptop, it is just not as easy to keep up-to-date and in good repair as a desktop machine. This may or may not be a concern for you and your family. Desktop consume more power but give high performance. On the other hand, laptops use power efficient parts and compromise on the performance slightly. With rare exceptions, new technology shows up in desktop PCs at least six to twelve months before they make their way to laptops.
- The Ease factor
One little nagging issue with laptops is the monitor joined with the keyboard. People with eye sight problems do have issues with this one. Getting used to the touch pad mouse is one thing which bothers a few, however this can be solved by connecting a USB mouse to the USB port available in laptops.
- Upgrading your computer
Upgrading a laptop is possible though there are only very limited options when it comes to upgrading your laptop. For eg. Adding a hardware to a laptop is extremely difficult. On the other hand upgrading a desktop is much easier and simpler.
